A Very Special
“Taste of the Trail” Raffle
Commemorating the Completion of the Museum Annex and the Renovation of the historic Knights of Pythias Hall
Naming Rights to the Main Gallery of the Community Facility Center
The Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum celebrates the rich ranching history of South
Central Texas. Through interpretive exhibits, artifacts, and multi-media presentations,
the stories of the Longhorn, cowboys, and the great trail rides originating in our
South Texas region will come to life, and chronicle the historical period beginning
with Thornton Chisholm’s pioneering 1866 cattle drive and ending fifty years later with
the demise of the open range and the advent of the modern cattle ranching era.
The Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum will not only showcase objects and artifacts that
interpret the great cattle drive era, but will provide meeting space for the general
public. The original Knights of Pythias meeting rooms, located on the second floor of
the historic building, have been restored to their (c. 1903) original grandeur, and
will provide over 5,000 square feet of handsome space for weddings, meetings, and other
cultural and educational activities. Equipped with a catering kitchen, elevator and
other modern amenities, the Community Facility Center will surely earn a special
stature in the cultural life of Cuero, DeWitt County and surrounding region.
The museum is currently offering naming rights for the rooms and galleries comprising
the Community Facility Center. The “Taste of the Trail” raffle provides the
winner with the opportunity to honor and memorialize a family ranch, a family name,
a family member, or a local institution with naming rights to the Main Gallery,
located on the second floor of the Community Facility Center.
The sales of raffle tickets are limited to 100, and can be purchased for $100 each.
Raffle Tickets can be ordered on your R.S.V.P. card, and you need not be present at the
“Taste of the Trail” event to win.
