Auction

The main event of every biennial Taste of the Trail fundraiser — the Live Auction — is legendary, both for its high stakes and high-spirited action. Spurred on by DeWitt County’s own Master Auctioneer, Joe Adams, ‘Trail’ guests engage in a fierce but friendly bidding war for the chance to claim some big-ticket items — and some good, old-fashioned braggin’ rights! The Silent Auction, which takes place in the Cantina Tent earlier in the evening, includes a comparable spread of must-haves up for bid and is also not to be missed!

The variety and caliber of goods on the auction block at past Taste of the Trail events — which have included domestic and overseas resort vacations, designer apparel, jewelry and artwork, one-of-a-kind collector’s treasures, and even a Longhorn calf — have drawn folks from far and wide and prompted them to dig deep. We hold to that tradition yet again this year with a growing list of ace-high items, a few of which are featured below, all of which have been graciously donated by generous Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum patrons.
