The Board of Directors of the Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum would like to say:

Thank You, Pardner!

For Making the 2010 "Taste of the Trail" Fundraiser a Resounding Success!

The 2010 "Taste of the Trail" hosted over 600 guests and patrons of the museum at Robert Oliver's beautiful Bellevue Ranch on April 17. The success of the 2010 fundraiser was made possible by the volunteers, event sponsors, auction item donors, and folks who generously bid upon and purchased the silent and live auction items. We would also like to thank all who support the museum through their museum memberships, and through their attendance at the "Taste of the Trail". Through your continued support, our vision of a first class regional museum in Cuero, Texas will become a reality in the near future. Thanks again for joining us "on the trail"!

Missed the big event? There are still limited available spaces for 2 more upcoming Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum events.

October 2, 2010: A Night at the Museum

Welcome to an evening at South Central Texas's newest cultural venue, our own Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum community facility, on the second floor of the historic building.

Imagine this: you will be among the first guests to enjoy the handsomely restored upper rooms of the former Knights of Pythias Hall. In candlelight, it will almost feel like 1903. Listen, do you hear wagons and carriages rumbling, down the street?

THE EVENT: A five-course, dinner for a limited number of guests (five couples per table) prepared by one of South Central Texas's most creative and award winning chefs, Tonya Patterson of Victoria.

You and your guests will be wined and dined during this evening to remember — surely you won't want to pass up this very special opportunity — gather your tablemates NOW!

$1500 per table (10 guests)

Contact the Museum at 361-277-2866 to book your table for this exclusive event that is sure to be the talk of Dewitt County.

This event is generously underwritten by Judy & Walter Fisher, Diana & David Burrow, Sara & Alton Meyer, Missy Thomas, A.J. Simpson, Mike Mixon, Robert Oliver, and Gail Dino and Prestige Wine Group -Dallas

November 13, 2010: On the Trail Again

Ever wonder what the original trail rides were like? Well, you can come darn close with a Trail Ride in Cheapside, Texas. You and your fellow riders will begin with a light brunch before a relaxed three to four hour ride, which will include several rest stops. Ride your own horse or simply enjoy the beautiful Dewitt County landscape from one of the wagons. Arrive back for cocktails and a gourmet campfire dinner in the early evening as you join up with your fellow riders and guests.

A select group of 25 riders will have the unique opportunity to say they had the "ride of a lifetime" with gourmet vittles and select wines…it's not exactly roughing it!

Contact Robert Oliver at 830-236-5533 or e-mail roliver@gvtc.com to reserve your spot, or gather a whole posse to join you!

Generously underwritten by Kay & Ron Walker, Leslie & Will OIiver, Cindi Griffin, Robert Oliver, Tracy Cliburn, Roger Welder, Sara & Walter Stubbs and Stubbs Family of Cuero and Gail Dino and Prestige Wine Group - Dallas

Watch this site for additional upcoming activities in 2010 and 2011. The next Taste of the Trail will take place in April 2012.
